Sweet Sleep
Sunday night I went in to check on the boys before I went to bed and found Wesley asleep like this. This is not an unusual thing in our house, Wesley is a crazy sleeper and moves constantly in his sleep. I want to get the boys bunk beds but until Wesley can learn to sleep in one place that idea scares me a little. A couple weeks ago, I took Wesley to an ENT because he had a cough that would not go away - it started in January, and after several visits to his regular doctor where I was told it was nothing, just a cough - we got the referral to have it checked out. The ENT told me that children with problems breathing while they sleep, move around a lot to try and find a position where they can breath better. We are trying a couple different things but we will find out more with his follow up visit. It may mean taking out his adenoids (this is my preference because the medication route sucks, trust me, I have been there) but we won't know for a couple more weeks. The ENT wants me to watch him sleep and see if he stops breathing...scary thought for this Mommy.

Meditations for Mothers
*They’re acting like kids because they are kids
*Everything’s gonna be alright
*My kids need my love, especially when they’re at their worst
*This too shall pass
*No one ever went to college in diapers
*Don’t take it personally
*Nobody’s perfect
*I won’t even remember this next month
*What would Jesus (or Buddha, Grandma, a joyous mother) do?
*This story can have a happy ending
*I am more than enough

Wesley-isms
With Wesley you never know what is going to come out of his little mouth. He says some of the cutest things. I love that he is at an age where he will spontaneously tell me that he loves me. I also love that when he knows he is in trouble he will ask to snuggle, thinking and probably knowing, that it does make things better. He has also started looking at me when he is in trouble, and saying "Mommy, I not mad at you" and if I am really upset this will make me madder, but most times it makes me smile. It is great to have him finally to the point where I can have a real conversation with him - and he does have a lot to say. Below are a few of the funny and cute things he has said recently.
- "Mommy, I awake - I super, super awake" (usually said when he is trying to not take a nap)
- Daddy to Wesley: "You are awesome" Wesley to Daddy: "I way, way, way, way, way awesome"
- Wesley to Mommy: "I tired Mommy, I need to get some sleep"
- Answer pretty much anytime you ask how he's doing: "I three"
- In reference to the detachable shower head - "Wow, that's cool and amazing....that super amazing"
My Crazy Boys (the cat included)
I had the camera out to take the pictures of Wesley below, and of course Max wanted a picture taken as well. The problem with him is, what he really wants is the camera - so he tends to walk toward you while you try to get the picture...
Wesley was asleep when Max woke up from his nap - Mushu ran into the room and hopped up on the bed with Wesley. I let him stay because this is a cat that really likes a warm body to sleep with...

Max's World...
Yesterday for lunch we had Mac and Cheese - Max threw quite a bit on the floor, so we brought in the kitty vacuum and he started eating. Max decided to join in with Mushu and both enjoyed the Mac and Cheese from the floor.
A couple weeks ago, Max had a royal meltdown. I can't even remember the reason it all started. But I do remember laughing at him because the reason was very laughable. The kid was mad and he yelled, and cried, and flopped on the ground. I really was quite comical, I even went so far as to call my sister so she could listen to the racket.

UPDATE: My sister reminded me of the reason - I was making brownies and he wanted the beater because in the past with frosting, I let him have the beater but not when baking cakes and such...raw eggs = bad, at least until I introduce them to cookie dough...
I mentioned that he drooled...a lot - If you look closely at the carpet you can see droplets of drool pooling there.

Easter - Hunting Eggs
Both of the boys enjoyed hunting for eggs - the first pictures are from Grandma and Grandpa's house and the others are from our house that afternoon (we hunted between sessions of conference because it was warmer). Wesley was on a mission to get as many eggs as possible, while Max wanted to open every egg he picked up. Overall it was just a lot of fun to watch.
Easter - Coloring Eggs and the Baskets
On Friday night we headed over to Grandma and Grandpa Alton's house to decorate Easter eggs. Wesley enjoyed the freedom of decorating without help for the first year and he did really good, and got nice and messy. For Max this year was the first year for decorating and he had a ball...we helped but he really is independent and did not always appreciate the help.
Max was intrigued by the whole process and just wanted to explore. Wesley too was impressed by how the egg changed color when put in the dye.
The above picture I call - "I just want to see what it tastes like, please stop hovering so I can drink it..."
Jeremiah, Gideon, and Wesley...fun times together.
Notice the hand...it was greenish blue for several days after.
Buddies
It was a lovely shade...don't you think?

Sunday morning the boys were greeted by the lovely Easter baskets left by the infamous Easter Bunny. Can we say spoiled?? Oh, and not pictured are the Easter gifts from Grandma and Grandpa Alton...hot wheels, candy, rubber duckies, and a movie - The Princess and the Frog.
Exploring the baskets and loot together.
