Thankful

What I am thankful for this Thanksgiving...totally random order:

Great friendships
I mean all of my amazing, wonderful friends...both old (read past) and new.

My wonderful, extremely patient husband…Greg
Even though I am not the best homemaker (really the house is never all clean and once and I hate doing dishes).  He still likes me and he adores our boys.  Oh, and I am really thankful that he doesn't mind doing the dishes (most of the time) and pulling out the vaccum on occassion...now if he would just start helping with the bathrooms...

My sweet boys…Wesley and Maxwell
For their sweet smiles, the hugs, the kisses, and the snuggles

Laughter
Especially from my two boys

Good health
Nothing makes you more thankful for your health and the good health of your family then dealing with, what seems like, constant illness for two months.  Or knowing the struggles of others...within the family and of friends.

Food Blogs
Can I just say that my family really does thank me for reading these...they are eating some wonderful things because of the food blogs I read.

Great family…both near and far
My parents, Greg's parents, all of our siblings, Aunts (especially my Aunt Kristie - you rock), Uncles, Cousins, Grandparents, and many more.

A great ward family that is there when you need them
Nothing has proven this more then the help I have recieved while sick these past few days ~ Special thanks to...Lori, Jillian, Rita, Jennifer, and Michelle, for sharing her husband

Food, Shelter, and Transportation
Not much else to say here....

My fur-babies…Flower and Mushu
Love my cats - they can totally entertain me with their odd antics.

Technology…I love Facebook and Blogging
Some might say it is a mild addiction but somedays it feels like my only conncetion to the world outside my home.  And the blog is the best way for me to record the big and not so big events in my family (because let's face it, I am terrible at keeping a journal).

Disney Channel and Disney Movies
Some days these are the only things that help me keep my sanity.  And it is so cute to hear Wesley answer the questions and be right...he really is learning - it is a fun interatction to participate in.  Even Max is starting to learn.

The Party

On Friday the Thirteenth we celebrated Max's first birthday at his Grandma and Grandpa Weyerman's house (because my house is just too small for that many family memebers to gather in for any length of time).  We had a fun time with all the family members that came.

I made the above cake for Max to mess up...and the below cupcakes for those that prefered them to the yummy cake that my Mom made.

The Monkey cake made by Grandma Alton...she is very talented and loves (well at least I think she does) making cakes for her Grandbabies.

The six pictures below are of Max and his cake...really he just wanted to play with the candle while it was lit.  But in the end he got the hang of it and had a good time.  Wesley helped blow out the candle and then for a child that would not touch is birthday cake when he turned one, he was very interested in his brothers cake.  Max never did eat any of the cake but the frosting is usually the best part any way.

And don't worry about Wesley, he got a cupcake and proceeded to lick off all the frosting before eating the actual cake.  The next day he informed me that the sprinkles were awesome.

And here are some pictures of the presents...Greg and I got Max is own train because Wesley can not seem to figure out how to share his.  Max still wants to play with the ones that Wesley has...oh well, they will figure out some day.  Grandma Alton made the stuffed moose, Aunt Kristie picked out the blue shirt and Grandma Weyerman picked out the moose outfit.  Uncle Charles and Aunt Sara gave him the ferry boat and not pictured is the gift from Aunt DaVette, a fun alphabet worm.

I am calling this picture... "I am so done with my first birthday"

One Year Old!

Maxwell Gregory Weyerman joined our family one year ago today, bright and early in the morning...this should have been a clue to me that he would continue to be an early bird.  As you can see from the photo, Max decided to give us a little scare and spent a few days in the NICU.  Luckily for us, this stay did not last long and soon he came home.  Max has been a fun addition to our little family...he has so much personality, and I love watching him play with his big brother.

Achievements...
  • Max is officially walking...he seems to prefer this mode of movement to crawling.  He is a much faster at crawling but seems to love being up right and chasing after his big brother or the cats.
  • At last check there are 8 teeth in his mouth but I am sure more are on their way...
  • Clapping, pointing, and waving - watch close...he will tell you what he wants
  • He babbles up a storm, he always seems to have something to say - Daddy, Mama, and somethig that sounds like bottle...you may also catch kitty
  • Max wants to touch, take, get into, anything and everything that he is not suppose to have...it is practically a full time job keeping him out of the "wrong" places

More Pictures...

Maxwell and Stetson...born almost one week apart exactly.
Happy Belated Birthday to my nephew (I really did mean to call and will very soon!)

And in honor of Rivalry Weekend (Go Bronco's...Beat the Vandals).  Pictures of Max in some of his Bronco gear...and yes, I have two of the same outfit in two different sizes - they were baby gifts when I had Wesley.

So Happy...

They are back...my most favorite holiday treat from last year - Hershey's Candy Cane Kisses.  A little bite of heaven in my opinion.  I have purchased three bags since the stores have started putting Christmas on the shelves...in fact bags two and three arrived home today (thank you coupons).  Greg is threatening to buy a case this year so that we can have these past the holiday season.

Making Daddy Proud

This afternoon when Max went down for his nap I decided it was time to paint my toe nails...I have not done this in a long time and I was missing my pretty, pretty toes.  And like always when I do this with Wesley around, he wanted me to paint his too.  We did start painting his finger nails but then they came in contact with his shirt and I was done.  To say Greg is not thrilled is putting it mildly...he does not mind the painting of the toe nails but he would rather I pull out blue or green polish instead of the pretty pinks and reds that I usually use.  But Wesley is happy and that is all I really care about.

Halloween and Other Fun

Halloween was a lot of fun for our family....the day started early with having breakfast at Grandma and Grandpa Alton's house. Mommy then left to go to the BSU Football game with Grandpa and Uncle Charles. We returned in time for dinner and Grandma's ward Trunk or Treat. Daddy had to work but because of trick or treating they closed the car dealership a little early, he got to join us for trick or treating in the neighborhood. That evening we also celebrated Uncle Charles birthday - the children were thoroughly sugared up. Wesley also got to go trick or treating a second time with his cousin Gideon (whom he adores, woke up that morning asking for Gideon).  The next day we went to Grandma and Grandpa Weyerman's house to celebrate another birthday...Sunday was also Aunt Brittney's Birthday.  It was a busy weekend but we had a lot of fun (and a little too much sugar :) )
