Heart Breaker

My little Valentine/Heart Breaker is 4 weeks old today...
These two are sure to be heart breakers one day but right now they are just silly and really cute.

A Food Addiction

Yes, it is true...my boys (especially Wesley) have an addiction. They are addicted to the Food Network - they love to watch cooking shows. I should have know this was coming when as a baby, I use to joke that Wesley was soothed by the sound of Ina Garten's voice (that is who they are watching by the way). Wesley's favorite shows are Aarti Party, Good Eats (Alton Brown), and Unwrapped - but he will watch any cooking show...though I think he has a small crush on Aarti (and who wouldn't, she has a cute Indian accent). Max just is learning to love the cooking shows and has not picked a favorite yet, though given time I am sure he will find one. It should be said that Greg does not share our addiction...he does not enjoy cooking shows (he will watch competition type shows like Iron Chef) because he says they make him hungry. This is fine, we will watch all we can without him...and DVR the rest to watch when he is not around.

Mice

This is Wesley informing me that there is another dead mouse on my patio...he was especially fascinated by the fact that the head had been removed.

Yep I had to close the curtains to keep them from staring at the poor creature.
This is the mighty hunter...and the pictures above are from dead mouse #4. I know that these "gifts" are a sign of affection/love from my cat...but really I could use a little less of this form of affection.

Two Weeks Old

Little Nolan is two weeks old today! Time is flying by and I look forward to enjoying all of the fun that a new baby brings. I love watching them change and grow and discover the world around them. But with him being two weeks old, I also realize how behind I am in blogging. So today I play catch up...watch for several posts to come at once. I am planning to back date them to the actual events. It has been a busy six weeks or so!

It's (another) Boy!

Nolan James Weyerman arrived on January 17th at 11:25 am
He weighed 8lbs. 4oz. and was 21.5 inches long
My smallest baby yet!
My birth story...
On Saturday I hurried out of the house to join my Mom, my Aunt, and a couple cousins for lunch and shopping. My goal was to walk myself into labor - I succeeded. We went to the hospital only to be sent away because I was in labor but not active enough labor...I really wanted to smack the nice nurse, she was saved because I could tell she really wanted me to stay. So, Sunday morning I went home to my parents house with a sleeping pill and orders to stay in Boise because "real" labor could start any moment. The contractions did get worse but they became sporadic/not regular - sometime after midnight I was done, and made Greg take me back to the hospital. It was now Monday morning and I was officially 39 weeks so they had to keep me (I was scheduled for an induction that same morning). After waiting for a nurse to get in (again no progression with my labor, it was too sporadic) - they started the pit and my epidural. And 45 minutes after breaking my water we had a baby.
All dressed and ready to go home.
1st time in the swing.

A Good Reminder...

For anyone that has met my Max, you know he had no fear or sense of danger...And Wesley is also good at finding mischief. I recently read a blog post that put a few things in perspective.

You can read it here.
